Eighth
graders are along their way to
completing their first novel in the
eighth grade. The novel helped they
appreciate the importance of immigrants
to the culture and life of the United
States and the sacrifices they needed to
endure so that rights of today’s workers
could be enjoyed.
SCIENCE 8
In Science, the students were able to
get a better understanding of what
oceanographers do through their study of
oceans and the earth’s landmasses.
Students also began to appreciate of the
role oceans play in keeping our
environment clean and the sea life
healthy.
SOCIAL
STUDIES 8
The eighth graders prepared to take
their TACHS Exam on Friday November 7th.
Initially they were very nervous but at
the completion of the test they declared
the test to be easy which made the
teachers all nervous. Projects
recreating the trench warfare during
World War I made the textbook
descriptions come alive for the
students. The presentations of these to
the class help spark discussions and the
realization that the actions during
World War I laid the groundwork for
World War II.
